He said 9 times out of 10 if you are still in a cast it isnt an issue, but to let them know if any pain hits at insertion point. Today, while transferring from a chair to my knee scooter, i misjudged my knee landing on the scooter pad and had a tumble over the side. I started with a larger baseball player type sock and every week got tighter fitting ones. Not only was there no damage, but everything healed very nicely. Seems ok but dont want to compromise healing. He had no concerns. my next foot, my left is my weaker leg. was my weaker leg so I am a little concerned. Again the surgery is like 36 Hours ago. My concern is my cast is very loose already, and for some reason the ball of my foot near the toe is not and was not covered to prevent my toes from pushing up during an accidental slip. About 2 weeks after my surgery I lost balance and I smacked my bare foot down on the bathroom floor while getting out of the shower. Felt a whole lot of pain and burning. Ill do what they tell me but its such a slow process. TaraH, I rolled my ankle at day 43 while in a protective boot, felt sharp pain, went back to my surgeon to get checked out. Happy healing!! Today my surgical cast and stitches were removed, x-rays were taken, and I was put in a removable boot. I had a ruptured achilles but due to the way it ruptured I ended up having to do a FHL transfer to support it as well which causes more non weight bearing time. i have a Im in my 4 week post-op and yet in the cast. Im a little worried I did some damage or worse re-tore the Achilles. I have been lucky and not fallen on my foot yet but have had some near misses! I woke up today feeling much better with almost no pain. Katie is now said to be learning to walk again following the latest procedure. Still need some strengthening, but life is almost back to normal now other than not yet back into sports. My first fall was off my scooter, and my second was going down the stairs with crutches (ended up just falling on my back , thankfully didnt tumble down The stairs lol) its very scary at first, but it happens to everyone.
